Michelle Obama vilified for her words, how about Michael Savage's?

Michelle Obama proclaimed that for “the first time” in her adult life,” she was proud of America, as she spoke during a rally to support her husband’s presidential bid.
Michelle was vilified for her words which had different meaning to different people, whether or not vilifying her was the right thing to do, or not, it is not the point I'm trying to make, the reason I bring it up is to, by comparison, look at how different standards are applied depending on what is your background or status in life and society.

On November 24, 2008 in the broadcast of his nationally syndicated radio show Michael Savage said of the United States:
"We are the sickest, most disgusting country on the earth, and we are psycholo -- psychotically -- we are psychotic as a nation."
Michelle saw something happening to her country which made her proud of it, and love it more, Savage sees something happening to this country which makes him... Hate it more?
Talk Radio Network, which syndicates Savage's show, claims that Savage is heard on more than 350 radio stations. The Savage Nation reaches at least 8.25 million listeners each week, according to Talkers Magazine, making it one of the most listened-to talk radio shows in the nation, behind only The Rush Limbaugh Show and The Sean Hannity Show.
There were many people, including me, who felt that this country has not fully lived to the expectations of it's founding principles: 'We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.'

With all the historic large scale acts of Xenophobia, Racism, Homophobia, et al, committed in this country, we couldn't believe at first that an African-American President was remotely possible, Michelle glimpsed that something wonderful was happening, the people of the US, which make the United States of America, compared to what we have seen in the past, were indeed making strides to make an American Ideal, a reality within our grasp.

She felt pride, said it and was vilified, attacked, demeaned, etc. - Many of us knew what she was talking about and joined her in appreciating and loving the people and this country even more.

On the other hand, we have a man who every weekday, 3 hours a day, continuously proclaims that he is a Patriot and spends his broadcasting hours attacking, demeaning, insulting and inciting hate and intolerance against entire communities and groups, Liberals, Feminists, Autistic Children, Democrats, Gays, Lesbians, Transgender, Immigrants, Mexicans, Countries, Foreign Leaders, the list is so long that one has to wonder as whom this man doesn't hate, do you have any idea how many times this man has put down his country in the most horrible way?.

Furthermore, his diatribes have palpable results and at least a Liberal was killed by one of his listeners, he was specifically targeted for being liberal; hateful words have consequences and we see the increase in violent hate crimes against the Hispanic / Latino Community among others.

Do his listeners, who declare him to be an Heroic Patriot, also have such a low opinion of their country because it strives to live up to it's enlightened founding principles?

Remember how all of the Right Wing Shock Jocks as Sean Hannity, Bill O'Reilly and the rest of the legion of hatemongers went after Michelle for her comments?

How come none of them says anything when Savage insults this country and it inhabitants? Forget it, dumb question.

But here is one good question for regular people, how come you let this very sick puppy keep on doing his job that creates so much division, hate and intolerance?

Because he hates homosexuals, he feels that "[S]ocially, we're far worse -- more degenerate than Weimar Germany. At least in Weimar Germany, men couldn't marry men and women couldn't marry women. So we're probably 10 leagues below the degeneracy that brought about Hitler. We're probably 50 leagues below the degeneracy that brought about Hitler. We are the sickest, most disgusting country on the earth, and we are psycholo -- psychotically -- we are psychotic as a nation."

He hides behind the 'Freedom of Speech' bastion and puts on a mantle as defender of it with his 'Paul Revere Society' - Really? Just call his show and see if he will allow you to make your comment, defender of Freedom of Speech? Ha!

This is only his latest rant, you know who Michael Savage is, so here is another good question for you, have you at least once called the Director of Programming? Here is a chance and a good reason for doing it, his name is Clark Reid and this is his email address clarkreid@clearchannel.com
