Secret Service Investigating Hate Crime on Padre Island
KIIITV News - South Texas

Neighbors are calling it a hate crime. Swastikas, racial references, even a threat on President Obama's life were all spray painted on new home construction on Padre Island over the weekend.
Police say it may have been the work of teens up to no good, but their actions have now landed them in hot water on a national level that has reached all the way to the White House. Broken lights, knocked over port-a-potties and graffiti covering five homes under construction. A nearby park was also tagged. Everything from swastika's to hate messages against African Americans and Anglos but it was the phrase "Obama will die" that now has the secret service getting involved. Neighbors we spoke with were clearly disturbed by what they saw.
Aidan DeLeon said, "I've never seen anything like this before, i don't ever think I've seen graffiti out on the island period, the things that are being written are just awful."
Police say they are following several leads and are looking for 3-5 teens who may have been involved. Because of the remarks against Obama, the culprits are now looking at both felony and federal charges. Police say a secret service agent is on his way from San Antonio to aid in the case.
